The world of terriers is
multifaceted and we enjoy it all. To continue to be involved in
racing, we began to look for a male. Dash was neutered at a young
age at the shelter & so our search once again led us back to the
Sow's Ear line. Who can argue with the success that Riot, Julien
(Bear) and multiple others down the line have had. Both of our girls are
rough coats so the thought of a smooth coat was very appealing with
hope that breeding smooth to rough will give pups with tightly
broken coats. Sow's Ear Julien was bred to a Revlon grand daughter
Lily who like her dam is a smooth coat. In looking in pedigree,
there were just to many talented terriers to pass up on this little
male. His pedigree goes back to Jazz & Tag and so the name Jag came
to mind. He is a sweet natured boy just a touch off a smooth coat.
At an early age, he had springs in his back legs. One day around 3 months old he jumped off the back of our recliner injuring his right hip. So after several vet opinions, OFA x-rays, we decided to crate rest & hope he would recover and come back strong. In April his first trial after his injury, he took 2nd & 3rd in racing. In May at the Carolinas trial & in June in TN, Jag was Puppy Racing Champion both days at those trials. At the July trial up in VA we measured and our little boy had shot up 1/4" so we moved him to the over puppy division where he continued his winning ways. The speed from his ancestors had came through. With his great temperament, speed & willingness to please, we hold high hopes for the future. |
