Nationals....the culmination of a
year of trials spent well with terriers and friends...I remember
telling someone who had not yet attended to pack for rain, sun, wet,
cold and even some sun! Little did I know to include wind gusts so
strong that all the easy Ups had to be taken down! But we started
off Friday our racing day with a healthy Dash and the rain, cold and
wind! What a day, he seemed to know where we were and it was now or
never- and run he did. In the end it was again Dash and his racing
buddy from Florida, Consuela-these two have in the last 3 yrs
accounted for 3 National Under Racing Championships: Consuela in
2004 and Dash in 2005 and repeating again in 2006. That hill brings
out the best in Dash, he gets stronger with every race, winning the
Championship and repeating for the 3rd yr the under sweepstakes
race. When Friday was finally over and in the dark this year, I
could sit back and enjoy watching some incredible terriers and
getting to visit, and shop! What a year it has been and we have 2
more trials to finish out 2006......
